SATURDAY: Scattered storms remain possible for our Saturday with a limited potential for a strong thunderstorm. The main area we are watching for this severe weather threat is along the Mississippi and Alabama state line pushing more into Alabama. The main threats will be strong gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. Still, Saturday will not be a washout as there will be some dry windows of opportunity. This will make temperatures more bearable as we start in the mid 70s, but only top out in the low 90s. Feels like values will be in the double digits making for an enjoyable feeling day. But these temperatures get even better Sunday.
SUNDAY: The frontal system will clear from our area leaving us with a much calmer forecast. While a sprinkle can’t be ruled out, the majority of us will stay dry. With the front clearing, we will be enjoying some cooler and drier conditions as well. Temperatures will start in the low 70s and only top out in the mid 80s by the afternoon. That’s about as good as gets for the start of August here in Mississippi.
NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will gradually increase as we head into the work week. The start of the week will still be in the upper 80s, but by the end of the week we will be reaching into the mid 90s. With that being said, the drier conditions will stick around as rain chances remain very limited through any of those weekday plans.
